About Verity Chat

What is Verity Chat?

Verity Chat is an unofficial, fan-made collection of browser-based interactive experiences inspired by the viral "Verity" Minecraft creepypasta video. The original video features a strange, sphere-shaped companion mob that supposedly appears in a player's world — and quickly becomes unsettling the longer it's around.

This site doesn't contain a real downloadable Minecraft mod. Instead, it offers a set of original, text-based and choice-based games that imagine what it might be like to actually interact with a character like Verity — a chat simulator, a survival-style decision game, and a "real or fake" quiz about the original video and its mythology.

Why we built this

A huge number of people search for "Verity mod download" every day, hoping to find a real, installable mod. There isn't one — the videos are scripted creepypasta content, not actual Minecraft mod releases. We built this site as a safe, free alternative for people curious about the character: something you can try directly in your browser, with no installation, no file downloads, and no risk.

Who runs this site

Verity Chat is an independently run, single-developer project. It is built and maintained by an individual indie web developer with a focus on small, niche interactive sites. This project is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Mojang Studios, Microsoft, or the original creator of the Verity video. All character names and concepts referenced here belong to their respective original creators; this site is a fan tribute.

Author: Maintained by an independent web developer (pen name: V. Chen). Background in frontend development and interactive web experiences. Content is researched from publicly available sources including ThatMob's official videos, fan wikis, and independent media coverage (Den of Geek, etc.).

Last content update: July 2026. All download figures and version numbers are verified against CurseForge listings at the time of writing.

Audience: This site is intended for general audiences. While Minecraft appeals to players of all ages, our content includes horror-themed fictional narratives and is designed for teens and adults. Parental guidance is suggested for younger visitors.
