These Community Guidelines explain how visitors can engage with veritymod.com's interactive features
responsibly and what standards we apply to user interactions. Our goal is to maintain a safe, informative,
and enjoyable environment for all fans of Verity mod content.
Our Core Principles
๐ก๏ธ Be Respectful
Our interactive experiences are designed for a broad audience including teens. All interactions โ even
with fictional AI-patterned characters โ should be conducted with respect. This site does not tolerate
harassment, hate speech, or abusive behavior of any kind.
๐ Privacy First
All chat data, game progress, and quiz results are stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage.
No personal data is sent to our servers or visible to other users. Use the "Forget me" button on any
interactive page to instantly clear your data.
๐ Educational Intent
This site is an independent fan resource. We provide guides, lore explanations, safety checklists,
and version comparisons to help the community navigate the Verity mod ecosystem. We do not host, distribute,
or sell any mod files.
๐ถ Age-Appropriate Design
This site is intended for ages 13+. While Minecraft is enjoyed by all ages, our content includes
horror-themed fictional narratives. Parents and guardians should supervise younger visitors. Children
under 13 should not use this site unsupervised.
Interactive Features Explained
Our interactive features are pre-scripted simulations, not open user-generated content platforms:
- Chat with Verity โ Responses follow a programmed personality script. There is no live
AI, no user-to-user chat, and no content moderation queue because no user-generated content is published.
- Survival Mode โ A choose-your-own-adventure interactive narrative. All choices and
outcomes are pre-authored.
- Reflex Game & Real-or-Fake Quiz โ Browser-based interactive tools with no data
collection beyond what localStorage stores for progress tracking.
Reporting Concerns
If you encounter any issue on this site โ whether a bug, inappropriate scripted content, privacy concern,
or any other problem โ please contact us immediately:
We review all reports and will respond as quickly as possible. If the concern involves a child's privacy
(COPPA/GDPR-K), we will take immediate action to remove any stored data and address the issue.
Content Standards
While this site does not host user-generated content, we hold our published content to the following standards:
- Accuracy: We source information from publicly available mod repositories (CurseForge,
Modrinth, Planet Minecraft), creator statements (ThatMob, JustWhispy), and community wikis. We clearly
distinguish verified facts from speculation or fan theories.
- Transparency: We disclose our sources and methodology. When information changes (e.g.,
mod updates, creator statements), we update our content promptly.
- Safety: We never link to unsafe downloads, cracked software, or unauthorized
distribution sites. Our safety checklist helps users verify mod integrity before installation.
- Fair Use: All content is original analysis, commentary, and guide writing. We respect
intellectual property rights of Mojang, Microsoft, mod creators, and content creators.
User-Generated Content & Moderation Policy
Moderation Commitment: All user-generated content on veritymod.com is subject to
moderation. We explicitly prohibit spam, harmful content, and any material that violates these
Community Guidelines. User interactions with our interactive features are filtered and reviewed
to maintain a safe environment for all visitors, particularly younger audiences.
While veritymod.com is primarily a content publication platform (not an open forum), we take
user interaction seriously. Our interactive features โ including the "Chat with Verity" simulation,
quiz responses, and game interactions โ are processed through the following moderation framework:
- Input filtering: Chat messages are screened against a keyword filter that blocks
profanity, hate speech, personal information sharing attempts (emails, phone numbers, addresses),
and known spam patterns before any processing occurs. Blocked inputs receive a neutral response
redirecting to appropriate content.
- No public posting: User inputs are never published, displayed to other visitors,
or indexed. All interactions are private, session-only exchanges between the visitor and the
simulated character script. No user-generated content appears on any public page of this site.
- No data persistence on servers: Chat history, game progress, and quiz results
are stored exclusively in the visitor's browser localStorage. No user-submitted content is stored
on our servers or transmitted to third parties.
- Periodic script audit: All interactive character responses are pre-authored
and reviewed periodically to ensure they remain age-appropriate and consistent with these guidelines.
Any scripted content found to be problematic is revised or removed within 24 hours of discovery.
Prohibited Content & Behaviors
The following are strictly prohibited in any interaction with this site's features. Visitors who
engage in prohibited behaviors may have their interactive sessions terminated and, in cases
involving illegal content, may be reported to appropriate authorities:
- Spam & automated abuse: Automated scripts, bots, or repeated submission of
nonsensical content designed to degrade site performance or disrupt interactive features.
- Harassment & hate speech: Any content targeting individuals or groups based
on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
- Personal information disclosure: Attempting to share or solicit personal
information (real names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, social media handles) through
interactive features. Our input filter actively blocks such patterns.
- Sexually explicit content: Any sexually explicit language, innuendo, or
attempts to steer interactive features toward adult themes. This site is designed for ages 13+
and maintains content standards appropriate for that audience.
- Malware & malicious links: Attempting to share links to malicious websites,
phishing pages, or files through any interactive feature. URL patterns are filtered at input level.
- Impersonation: Attempting to impersonate site administrators, mod creators,
or other community figures through interactive features.
Moderation, Enforcement & Escalation
Our moderation framework operates on multiple layers to ensure rapid response to any issues:
- Automated content filtering (real-time): All inputs to the "Chat with Verity"
simulation and other interactive features pass through keyword-based and pattern-based filters
before processing. Prohibited content is blocked silently โ the user receives a neutral, on-topic
response while the violation is logged (anonymously, with no personal data) for pattern analysis.
- Content review (periodic): Every article and scripted response on this site
is reviewed at least quarterly for accuracy, appropriateness, and compliance with these guidelines.
Outdated, inaccurate, or problematic content is revised or removed.
- User reporting (on-demand): Any visitor who encounters a bug, inappropriate
scripted content, or a privacy concern can report it via:
- Email: yangtao309@gmail.com โ reports reviewed
typically within 48 hours
- Our Contact page โ same review timeline
- Google AdSense ad reporting: For inappropriate third-party advertisements, use Google's
built-in ad reporting tool (click the AdChoices icon on any ad unit)
- Escalation protocol: Reports involving child safety (COPPA/GDPR-K), illegal
content, or credible security threats receive priority handling. Any stored user data related
to such reports will be deleted immediately. If necessary, we will cooperate with law enforcement
or platform safety teams.
- Transparency: Significant moderation decisions and policy updates are
reflected in these Community Guidelines. Visitors are encouraged to review this document
periodically for the latest standards.
Why these rules exist in the Verity mod community
The Minecraft horror mod scene โ from Herobrine creepypastas to the Verity phenomenon โ operates
in a unique space where community trust is essential. Unlike official game updates, mods are
created and distributed by independent developers, most of whom are hobbyists with no corporate
backing. This community-driven model thrives on goodwill, transparency, and shared norms:
- Spoiler etiquette: The Verity mod narrative relies heavily on discovery and
surprise. Jump scares, hidden messages, and evolving AI behavior lose impact when spoiled without
warning. We ask that any guides or discussions on this site that reveal major story moments
include clear spoiler warnings โ both for the benefit of new players and out of respect for the
creators who invested months crafting those experiences.
- Fan work attribution: The Verity ecosystem includes fan animations, remixes,
fan-fiction, and tribute mods. When referencing or featuring fan creations, proper attribution
to the original creator is mandatory โ this is the single most common source of community
conflict we've observed. If you believe your work has been misattributed on this site, contact
us immediately for correction.
- Scam awareness: The Verity mod's viral popularity has attracted scammers
offering "exclusive downloads," "early access builds," or "premium features" for payment.
Legitimate Verity-related mods on CurseForge and Modrinth are free. Any site or individual
requesting payment for a Verity mod is almost certainly fraudulent. Our Safety Checklist page
has a detailed guide on spotting these scams.
- Creator respect: ThatMob, JustWhispy, and other Verity content creators
are independent artists. Speculation about their personal lives, demands for faster content
releases, or harassment in comment sections undermines the creative culture that makes this
community worth participating in. Constructive feedback is welcome; entitled demands are not.
Fan content creation boundaries
Fan creativity is one of the strongest signals of a healthy community โ and the Verity mod
scene is rich with it. If you're a creator (animator, writer, texture artist, modder) making
content inspired by Verity, here are the boundaries we've observed from community practice
and copyright considerations:
- Transformative works are encouraged: Fan art, analysis videos, lore theory
essays, tribute animations, and gameplay commentary are welcome forms of expression. These are
protected under fair use / fair dealing principles as long as they add original commentary,
criticism, or creative transformation โ not simply repost existing content.
- Reposting without permission is prohibited: Re-uploading another creator's
mod .jar file, animation, or artwork to a different platform without explicit permission violates
the creator's distribution rights. Always link to the creator's original CurseForge, Modrinth,
or YouTube listing rather than providing a direct file mirror.
- Commercialization boundaries: Selling derivative mods, paywalled content
that uses others' intellectual property, or "premium" distribution of free mods crosses into
legal risk territory โ not just for you but potentially for the original creators whose work
is associated with the transaction. If you want to monetize Verity-inspired content (e.g., through
YouTube ad revenue or Patreon-supported creation), stick to transformative commentary and
original art that doesn't redistribute mod files.
- Tribute mods vs. direct copies: Creating your own original mod inspired by
the Verity concept (a horror companion with personality shifts) is fair creative territory
โ ideas are not copyrightable. Copying another mod's code, assets, or scripted dialogue
verbatim and republishing under a different name is not. The community distinguishes between
"inspired by" and "stolen from" based on whether the work demonstrates original creative
decisions in implementation.
- When in doubt, reach out: If you're unsure whether a planned project crosses
a boundary, contact the mod creator through their verified channels (CurseForge profile,
official Discord server). Most creators in this community are responsive and happy to clarify
their preferences on derivative works โ ambiguity is usually resolved by asking, not assuming.
