How to Install Verity Mod

This guide is for unofficial fan-made Verity mods, not an official Mojang release. The original Verity from ThatMob's video was scripted fiction. These mods are inspired by that concept and created independently by the community.

Before you start

Installation depends on which Minecraft edition you play:

Java Edition: PC/Mac/Linux players using the original Java version. Requires Forge mod loader and GeckoLib.
Bedrock Edition: Windows 10/11, consoles (Xbox, PlayStation, Switch), and mobile (iOS/Android, formerly called PE). Uses .mcaddon behavior packs.

Not sure which edition you have? Java Edition has a "Java Edition" label on the main menu. Bedrock Edition just says "Minecraft" and supports cross-play with consoles and mobile.

Java Edition — the short version

Install Forge for your Minecraft version from files.minecraftforge.net
Install GeckoLib (required animation library) from CurseForge or Modrinth
Download the Verity mod .jar from an official CurseForge or Modrinth listing — see our Java Edition guide for which one to pick
Place both files in your .minecraft/mods folder
Launch Minecraft on the Forge profile and confirm it appears under "Mods"

Bedrock Edition — the short version

Download the .mcaddon file from CurseForge or MCPEDL
Tap or double-click it — Minecraft should import it automatically
Create or edit a world, enable Beta APIs under Settings → Experiments
Activate the add-on under Behavior Packs in your world settings
